Beyond the Brew - wine & gin bar extended for 2026
Beyond the Brew: Knutsford Beer Festival expands with dedicated Wine & Gin Bar
When our much-loved festival is back this spring, you will see an expanded wine and gin bar from Morgan Edwards. With a carefully curated range of wines, including red, white, rosé, and sparkling options, alongside an excellent selection of gins to suit all tastes. Whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast, gin lover, or simply looking to try something new, the bar offers a nice alternative to the traditional beer focus.
Provider of the Wine & Gin Bar, Ed Speakman from Morgan Edwards explained why it’s so important to see a range of drinks at the bar:
“We wanted to make sure the festival feels welcoming to everyone, not just the loyal beer drinkers. By offering a dedicated wine and gin bar, we’re giving people more choice and a different way to enjoy the event. It’s also really important to us that no one feels left out, which is why we’ve included alcohol-free wine and gin options too — so whether you’re not drinking or just pacing yourself, you can still be part of the experience with a quality crafted drink. We’ve supported the beer festival for many years but this year will see the best Wine & Gin bar to date!”
It’s important to mention that the festival would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. A special thank you goes to glasses sponsor Marianne Evans of Tukea, whose continued support helps boost funds and make it a real fund-raising event for charity.
Marianne told us why she enjoys being a sponsor of the event:
“I really love championing a local festival that raises money for such good causes. The sponsors’ night is always a highlight for me – it’s such a fun, friendly atmosphere and I’ll catch up with friends that we see there every year. As someone who isn’t a big beer drinker, I’m especially pleased that the festival offers wine and gin as well. It really does feel like there’s something for everyone, and it’s a fantastic way for the community to come together and give something back.”
The Wine & Gin Bar itself is proudly supported by long-time festival supporter David Jones from PR Jones Jewellers, alongside Roger Lewin from Knutsford Hearing Centre, who joins as a new sponsor this year. Their contributions help ensure that the bar continues to offer a high-quality and diverse range of drinks.
David Jones, who has supported the festival for many years, shared his enthusiasm:
“I’ve always believed in giving back to the community, and the Knutsford Beer Festival is a brilliant way to do that. It’s a great event that brings people together while raising money for local charities, and I’m proud to continue supporting it.”
Roger Lewin, representing Knutsford Hearing Centre, is delighted to be getting involved for the first time. He told us why he wanted to get involved:
“As a business based right in the centre of town, it’s important to me to support the community and help make Knutsford an even better place. I’m really pleased to get behind the festival this year and contribute to the great work it does.”
As always, the Knutsford Beer Festival is about more than just great drinks – it’s about making a difference. All proceeds from the event go towards supporting local charities, with this year’s beneficiaries being Knutsford Men’s Shed and Stable Minds. Both organisations play a vital role in supporting wellbeing and community connection, making the festival’s fundraising efforts all the more meaningful.
With a lively atmosphere, a wide variety of drinks, and a strong charitable purpose, the Knutsford Beer Festival continues to be one of the town’s standout events. Whether you’re attending for the beer, the wine, the gin, or simply the sense of community, it promises to be a weekend not to be missed.
